The Ice cream…(the news)
Today in the weekly financials meeting Preston announced that he would be hiring a new person to work in his department as an Assistant Director of Procurement. “This candidate must be outgoing, qualified, and easy to work with.” Victoria was slouched over in her seat thumbing through bbm’s and perked up with enthusiasm at the sound of Preston’s voice. “ So Preston, will the posting be open to the public or company-wide only?” Preston flashed his impeccable smile and said, “We think it’s important to find internal talent for this position…”
Was he serious? What kind of talent did he think he would find in this office…But I will be happy to process the applications and weed out the losers.
The scoop….(behind the scenes)
Joshawn was in the break room pouring hazelnut cream in her black coffee. She was feeling great today. Her husband was away on a business trip and she was looking for trouble. Vincent walked in and greeted her with a lustful smile. “Why does he always look at me like that?” thought Joshawn. She dropped her notebook and he reached to pick it up while Vincent laughed. “Do I amuse you Vincent? You’re always wearing a smirk when you see me.” He was pissing me off, always laughing like I was entertainment. “Do you want to know what I really think about you? I think that you are sexy, smart, and obviously not getting enough.” And with that said this Sweet-smelling, Content, and Undeniably debonair Man walked off.(thats how you say sexy in corporate speak)
Monday started off with a bang for Joshawn, and the gun had another bullet left…
In the restroom, I overheard Victoria and her intern plotting on a way to secure the new position directly under Preston. “I know that I am the person for this new position. I am so tired of working under this selfish asshole in Marketing. But I don’t think he will let me go.” “Victoria, you have made a lot of money for this company and he owes you this opportunity. But you better have a contingency plan, do you know anyone in HR?”
I tried to tiptoe out of the bathroom and she caught me. “What’s your name again? Aren’t you the new temp in HR?” “ My name is Lisa DeVaughn, and yes I am currently working in HR. If you have any questions I can set up an appointment for you.”
